With reference to the above subject, it is to be noted that, Government of Maharashtra vide notification has exempted female employees earning Salary or Wages upto Rs.25,000/- from payment of professional tax with effect from 1st April 2023.(Refer Attached File)
In view of the aforesaid amendment in Maharashtra Profession Tax Law, you are requested not to deduct profession tax of female employees if their salary during the month does not exceed Rs. 25,000/-.
